Tatiana Morosuk is Professor of the Technical University of Berlin, Germany. She studied refrigeration engineering at the Odessa State Academy of Refrigeration (Diploma 1990), and she obtained her Ph.D. in 1994 and Professorship in 2001, all in Ukraine. The main objective of her research is to increase the sustainability of energy conversion systems from the thermodynamic, economic and ecological viewpoints. These activities in research and teaching cover a wide range of applications from power plants to refrigeration/cryogenic processes, and energy-intensive chemical plants. This includes smart energy supply and use in industrial parks, implementation of renewable energy, and innovative concepts of CO2 technologies. She is the author/co-author of 7 books and approximately 400 publications. Professor Morosuk is the director of the Institute for Energy Engineering at TU Berlin and the study dean of the four international energy-related master programs.

Alicia Valero Delgado is head of the group of industrial ecology and resource efficiency at the Research Centre for Energy Resources and Consumption (CIRCE - Institute) and has been lecturer at the University of Zaragoza in the Mechanical Engineering Department, a post she has occupied since 2007. Her more than fifteen years research activity has been focused on the identification of resource efficiency measures and the application of thermodynamics in the evaluation of resource depletion, subject from which she has received four international awards.
She studied chemical engineering at the University of Zaragoza finishing her education at the Université Paul Sabatier in Toulouse and the TU Berlin. Shortly afterwards, she became a junior researcher at Siemens Power Generation in Berlin and a consultant at PricewaterhouseCoopers (Madrid). She entered the Research Centre for Energy Resources and Consumption (CIRCE) in 2003 and finished her Ph.D. in 2008 with a research stay at the British Geological Survey.
In addition, she is the author or co-author of over 50 publications in international journals and book chapters and over 60 international conference papers, all of which relate to the analysis and optimisation of energy and the use of raw materials.

Soteris Kalogirou is Professor at the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Materials Sciences and Engineering of the Cyprus University of Technology, Limassol, Cyprus. Currently, he is the chairman of the Department. He received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Glamorgan (UK) in 1995. In June 2011, he received the title of D.Sc. from the University of Glamorgan.
For more than 30 years, he has been actively involved in research in the area of solar energy and particularly in flat plate and concentrating collectors, solar water heating, solar steam generating systems, desalination and absorption cooling.
He has a large number of books and papers in international scientific journals. He is Editor-in-Chief of Renewable Energy and Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Energy, and Editorial Board Member of another eleven journals. He is the editor of the book Artificial Intelligence in Energy and Renewable Energy Systems, published by Nova Science Inc., co-editor of the book Soft Computing in Green and Renewable Energy Systems, published by Springer and author of the books Solar Energy Engineering: Processes and Systems, and Thermal Solar Desalination: Methods and Systems, published by Academic Press of Elsevier.
