6th International Conference on
Contemporary Problems of Thermal Engineering

The energy system beyond 2020 – challenges and opportunities

21-24 September, 2020 (Monday – Thursday)

News

Taking care of our common good and safety in this insecure pandemic situation, we have carefully studied the results of the survey related to the nearest CPOTE conference. Based on the valuable comments of our participants we have come up to a decision, that the CPOTE 2020 will be held online on September 21 – 24, 2020. We encourage you to share your knowledge in the first online edition of CPOTE conference.

Organizing Committee, 4 May 2020

Conference topics

CPOTE is a conference which brings together scientists involved in energy and exergy analysis. The scope of the conference is characterized by tracks divided into several areas of research and methodologies commonly used in research. During paper submission please select area of research and methodology which best match the content of your paper. This will help us to assign proper reviewers and arrange the conference's sessions. We aim to cluster similar topics into thematic blocks and identify each conference session with a proper name. We hope that the proposed Tracks will allow to match your fields of interest with the conference's sessions. If you have any suggestions regarding the proposed Tracks, please send us an e-mail.

The conference topics include the following tracks, for which you can assign your abstracts. Each abstract should be assigned both to areas of research and methodology so that the thematic sessions at the conference can be based on one of these tracks.

Tracks of the conference

Area of research

  • Non-renewable energy sources (coal, lignite)
  • Non-renewable energy sources (oil, gas)
  • Renewable energy sources (biomass, biogas, wastes)
  • Renewable energy sources (solar)
  • Renewable energy sources (wind)
  • Renewable energy sources (others)
  • Alternative energy sources (e.g. synthetic fuels, nuclear)
  • Buildings (e.g. residential, office, municipal)
  • Turbomachinery, boilers, heat exchangers, electrical and auxiliary equipment
  • Conventional power and combined heat and power (CHP) plants
  • Low-temperature energy technologies (e.g. ORC, heat pumps, HVAC)
  • Industrial processes and technologies
  • Hydrogen production and utilization technologies
  • Energy storage and management
  • Integrated energy systems
  • Other*

Methodology

  • 1st and 2nd law analysis
  • Advanced exergy analysis
  • Economic analysis
  • Environmental analysis, life cycle analysis (LCA)
  • Mathematical modelling and simulation
  • Experimental investigation and measurements
  • Computational fluid dynamics (CFD)
  • Optimization, diagnostics, control and automation
  • Feasibility study
